Father, Son

Photo Antics

Travel log. . .at home

My husband and I can't travel to exotic locations at this time in our life, so I have to search for interesting subjects right in my own neighborhood--literally. I didn't realize what beautiful textures, light, and colors were available to me until I started looking for them through the viewfinder of my camera.

As good as chocolate

At least in my book.

Take that, pesky house flies!

A most welcome visitor has moved into our garage.

One Of the Hard Lessons In Life

Watching one of your pet chickens slowly fade from life.

Tuesday, June 26, 2012

My son came home from Scouts with a goose egg!

No, I mean a real goose egg; one of his Webelos Scout leaders raises geese.

For a boy who adores his pet chickens, he was on Cloud Nine when his leader handed him a huge goose egg to take home! We had a yummy treat for lunch, using a little fresh dill from the garden and his special egg.

So here's a little comparison: Back to front, goose egg (apparently they stain easily, but it has actually been cleaned); one of our biggest chicken eggs from my son's chickens; one of our tiny, yolkless eggs.

Don't ask. Hey, my son and I were having a bonding moment playing with his egg and my camera.
